About

I’m Pete Cooper - your friendly AI guy. I run an AI lab called Skillion. We work with real clients, find the operational problems costing them the most time and money, build the AI to fix it, and grow the best ideas into their own ventures.

Skillion is where it all starts. We do AI engineering and consulting - LLM integration, computer vision, edge AI, IoT, SaaS - across health care, construction, SMEs, and technology clients. That hands-on work generates revenue, builds IP, and surfaces the big opportunities. From that work, we’ve built a portfolio of ventures at different stages: • Hawkeye - Our patented AI vision system for cycling safety. Detects hazards in real time using edge-compute cameras. Shipping to customers. • SiteHawk - AI for construction monitoring. Built through an embedded client engagement, ready to scale. • Arclytics - Data centre monitoring, licensing client electronics to build an AI SaaS layer on top. • Reconexa - The furthest along. AI-native SaaS that automates reconciliation between clinics, insurers, and accounting systems. Started in Australia, now expanding into the US.
• Involved in companies with exits totalling $120M

• Engineering degree, MBA (AGSM @ UNSW), airline pilot’s licence
• PodCast host "AI hype or help" If you’re a healthcare operator drowning in admin, I’d love to show you what Reconexa can do. If your business has an operational problem that feels like it should have been solved by now — that’s exactly what Skillion does. Or if you just want to talk AI over coffee, I’m easy to find.

How fractional CTO engagements with Pete work

Pete works on a fractional basis — typically one to three days a week for an agreed engagement length — so you get senior technical leadership without the cost or commitment of a full-time hire. Engagements commonly include technical due diligence, board reporting, engineering team leadership, technology strategy, architecture reviews, hiring support, and stepping in as interim CTO during a transition.
