Taher Bohra
Founder and Fractional CTO, Crescentic
Based in Canada · 15+ years experience
Summary
Hands-on fractional CTO for founders taking a product from prototype to production. 15 years. Brings a build team when there is building to do.
About
I help founders take a product that works and make it hold up: real customers, investor questions, a security review.
I have spent 15 years as an engineer and consultant: nine at a US digital agency with enterprise clients, and the last six running Crescentic, a small product studio, working with startups. A few examples:
- A UK startup I have supported from day one. We took them through ISO 27001 and investor due diligence, and SOC 2 is in progress.
- A healthcare training product that began as a prototype. I lead its development and turned it into a stable product with voice AI and scoring.
- A US startup where I held the CTO seat. When the build grew, the CEO asked me to bring in engineers from my studio.
I stay hands-on. I read the code before I give advice, and I will tell you when you do not need a hire yet. When there is building to do, I can bring a team I have worked with for years, so the advice and the delivery come from the same people.

How fractional CTO engagements with Taher work
Taher works on a fractional basis — typically one to three days a week for an agreed engagement length — so you get senior technical leadership without the cost or commitment of a full-time hire. Engagements commonly include technical due diligence, board reporting, engineering team leadership, technology strategy, architecture reviews, hiring support, and stepping in as interim CTO during a transition.
