About
I've spent 30 years doing something that turns out to be rare: operating fluently in both the business room and the engineering room.
Most technical leaders speak engineer. Most business leaders speak outcomes. I speak both — and I've spent three decades translating between them, at every level, in companies of every size.
I work with founders, executives, and boards who need senior technical judgment without a full-time hire. I also work with engineering organizations that have stopped delivering — where things aren't shipping, production keeps breaking, or the team is working hard without making progress. In my experience, the visible problem is almost never the real problem. Finding the real problem is what I do.
The pattern across engagements is consistent: come in to a stalled project or broken organization, assess what's actually wrong, redirect the team and the work, and deliver — usually with the same people who were there when things weren't working. The team was rarely the problem.
I'm also the creator of original technologies that emerged from problems the industry considered solved or unsolvable: Vouchsafe/ZI-CG (cryptographic identity and trust with zero infrastructure) and DTL (sandboxed data transformation without custom code). Each one started as a wall somebody said couldn't be climbed.
